Working at the Institute of Art History since 1970. / Editor-in-chief of the journal “Mākslas Vēsture un Teorija” (“Art History and Theory”). / Lecturer at the Art History Department of the Latvian Academy of Art (“Iconography”, “Medieval and Baroque Architecture and Sculpture in Latvia”), academic supervisor of BA, MA and PhD dissertions.

Research interests: medieval and Baroque art in Latvia, history of art history, iconography.

Education: Art History Department of the Latvian Academy of Art (graduation diss. “Some developments in the wood carving of Kurzeme in the late 17th and early 18th cent.”, 1973), PhD programme of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (1973–1977; PhD diss. “Ventspils wood carving workshop in the 2nd half of the 17th cent. – early 18th cent.”, 1983).
